What an incredible little place with such a big heart!
A city filled with bars, hostels and unique eateries you find it hard to not fall in love with it.
Over the last few days, I have been on a few ‘Free’ walking tours (Usually a 10 Euro donation is expected, so worth it), caught up with some locals – Thank you Instagram and had a good old stroll around the town thanks to trip advisor!
I would encourage you to jump on a walking tour as always, as one of the first things you do in a new city. It will help you navigate your way around and ask the tour guide some questions along the walk, they always like to chat and recommend places and activities.
I also took a day trip with Greyline bus tours, (you can buy these in most tourist information centres) and went out to ‘The Giants Causeway’. This trip was great, 49 Euro total, we also went to Dunlace Castle, in which you can see in the video. This was only a 5 min stop, so if you want to see more of it and go in, maybe check another tour. We also went to ‘Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge’ which was a bit of fun and adrenaline. Last stop was ‘The Dark Hedges’ from Game of Thrones.
I would encourage at least 3 days around the city.
Day 1 – Walking tour, go to Temple Bar area (This is an area, not just a bar)
Day 2- Go check the museum and maybe a whiskey tour or Guiness tour.
Day 3 – Head around the city some more, there is always the hop on hop off bus tours which are great!
From there you could hire a car and head west and spend a night out in Galway area or Cork. I didn’t do this but heard it is beautiful.
